On November 22, 2023, in the capital Vientiane, Laos, Phongsupthavy Group Company, along with the contractor consortium led by Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 3 (EVNPECC3), held a signing ceremony for the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract titled “Design, supply, installation of hydraulic machinery and construction of the project” for Nam Neun 1 hydropower project, with a total value of 184,999,999 USD.
Both C47 and EVNPECC3 are associated companies of Vu Phong Energy Group.
The Nam Neun 1 hydropower project, located in Ban Phianghong, Muang Nonghet, Xiengkhuang province, Laos, consists of two units with a total capacity of 124MW. The contract covers key components such as Dam construction, Dam spillway, Diversion tunnel, Water intake gate, Tunnel, Power plant, and Distribution station,… with a 48-month construction term.

Phongsubthavy Group is one of Laos’ major private enterprises engaging in the energy sector, with a project portfolio of up to 2,000MW. The group currently owns 24% of the EDL-Generation Public Company, a state-owned subsidiary of the Electricite Du Laos (EDL).
In addition to the Nam Neun 1 hydropower project, C47 is actively working on the Nam Phak hydropower project in Laos, which is worth roughly 800 billion VND. Simultaneously, C47 is working on major domestic tasks such as the Expanded Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant (Hoa Binh province); Phu Phong Weir Dam (Binh Dinh), the Tan An Irrigation System – Dap Da, and the Coastal road section from Cat Tien to Diem Van (Binh Dinh province); the Ta Hoet water reservoir project, the Ka Zam water reservoir project (Lam Dong province)…

C47 continues to affirm their position, capabilities, credibility, and professionalism in managing and implementing domestic and international hydropower and irrigation projects with the signing of the contract. This demonstrates alignment with the Company’s leadership’s development strategy for the 2020-2025 period.
According to the plan, the project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027 and export electricity to Vietnam.
