About the project

Solar power is a renewable, clean and sustainable source of energy. Many countries in the world have recognized the potential and benefits of solar power and invested heavily in developing solar power projects. One of the leading companies in the field of solar power in Vietnam is Vu Phong Energy Group, which has implemented the 218 kWp grid-tie solar power project for An Binh, a printing company in Ho Chi Minh.

Solar power installation project 218 kWp An Binh, Ho Chi Minh

The project was completed in 2021, with a total capacity of 218 kWp. The project can reduce 250 tons of CO2 emissions per year, calculated using the 2021 Vietnam grid emission factor. The project is located on the rooftop of the An Binh’s factory in Xuan Thoi Dong commune, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City, a city with abundant solar radiation and favorable conditions for solar power development.

The project was implemented by Vu Phong Energy Group, a reputable and professional partner in the field of solar power. Vu Phong Energy Group offers a comprehensive range of services, including consultation, technical design, material procurement, and construction execution. The project was carried out under the PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) contract, which means that Vu Phong Energy Group installed and operated the system for An Binh, and An Binh only paid for the electricity generated by the system at a lower price than the grid.

Project equipment

The project used 1,444 high-efficiency solar panels LG 450WP, 2 sets of SMA 110KW grid-tie inverters, and high-quality auxiliary frame system and conductor with over 30 years of durability. The solar panels were installed on the rooftop of the factory, covering an area of about 3,000 m2. The grid-tie inverters were connected to the national grid, allowing the project to sell excess electricity to the grid and receive a feed-in tariff (FIT) from the government. The auxiliary frame system and conductor were designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and ensure the safety and stability of the system.

Project benefits

The project has brought many benefits to An Binh, such as:

  • Reducing electricity costs: Solar power helps An Binh save electricity costs every month, especially during peak hours or peak seasons. An Binh can also earn income from selling surplus electricity to the grid at a preferential price.
  • Improving operational efficiency: Solar power helps An Binh ensure a stable and continuous power supply, avoiding power outages or disruptions. This helps An Binh improve its operational efficiency, enhance its service quality, and increase its customer satisfaction.
  • Enhancing reputation and brand: Solar power helps An Binh demonstrate its care and responsibility for the environment and the community, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. This helps An Binh enhance its reputation and brand, attract potential customers and partners, and create sustainable values.

The project is a successful example of the cooperation between Vu Phong Energy Group and An Binh in developing solar power in Vietnam. Vu Phong Energy Group is proud to be a trusted partner of many large domestic and foreign customers, such as VinGroup, Samsung, Unilever, Nestlé, etc. Vu Phong Energy Group hopes to continue cooperating with Vietnamese enterprises to develop sustainable energy, contributing to building a green, prosperous and peaceful future for Vietnam and the world.
