The rooftop solar power system of Duy Tan Plastics Company, a subsidiary of Duy Tan Plastics Manufacturing Corporation, in Binh Duong, has a capacity of 2.17 MWp. The system contains 16 SMA 110kW inverters and 3,289 high-performance 660W Canadian solar panels. On November 22, 2023, the system was officially handed over.

Handing over the rooftop solar power system of Duy Tan: a commitment to sustainability

With a capacity of 2.17 MWp, the system can generate over 3,000,000 kWh of solar power each year, reducing CO2 emissions by over 2,000 tons annually. This is significant because Duy Tan Plastics is a Vietnamese pioneer in emission reduction, sustainable development, and the movement towards a circular economy. Duy Tan Plastics received the ISCC PLUS certification from the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) in November 2022. This globally recognized certification attests to organizations excelling in carbon management and supply chain sustainability. Duy Tan is Vietnam’s first rigid packaging and household products manufacturer and the third company in SCGP to get this international sustainability certification.

A collaboration for a greener future

Collaboration on developing a rooftop solar power system with a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model helps Duy Tan Plastics save energy costs without the need for upfront investment and system operation, in addition to generating clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. BayWa r.e. Vietnam invested in the project, and Vu Phong Energy Group is the project developer, providing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services.

Duy Tan Plastics has achieved considerable consecutive achievements via constant investment and implementation, achieving certifications and awards relating to green transformation and sustainable development.
