The cooperation of Vu Phong Energy Group, C47 and INTRACO towards sustainable development goals

On November 25, 2021, Vu Phong Energy Group, Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (C47), and Investment and Trade Consultancy Company Limited (INTRACO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on “Providing clean drinking water stations and reducing greenhouse gas emissions projects” toward the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Signing Ceremony had the attendance of Mr. Minh, Tran Van, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh Rural Water and Environmental Sanitation Center under Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Phong, Pham Nam – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vu Phong Energy Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of C47; Mr. Tri, Nguyen Quang – CEO of Vu Phong Energy Group; Mr. Quang Duong Minh – Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of C47; Mr. Dung, Hoang Anh – Director of INTRACO and numerous heads of three enterprises and partners.

At the ceremony, representatives of three enterprises signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the establishment of a joint venture to produce, build, install and operate water purification stations that provide drinking water, improve community health. The project aims to build and install 1,000 water purification stations per year in various provinces and cities, each with a 2,000-liter-per-hour capacity to ensure equitable access to water and sanitation. Following that, the project will be able to extend into the fields of afforestation and marine ecosystems protection.

Water, is an important component of life and the environment, has a great influence on human health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), unclean water and the environment cause around 80% of illnesses in developing countries. Using unclean water causes gastrointestinal illnesses such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid… as well as dermatological, ocular, gynecological, and even chronic infectious diseases or cancer. Water is the core element in sustainable development, particularly in a nation with a strong agricultural industry such as Vietnam. There are many Goals related to water resources among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations to eradicate poverty, protect the environment and the earth’s climate, including Goals 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 13, and 15.

Mr. Phong, Pham Nam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vu Phong Energy Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of C47, stated at the signing ceremony that Vu Phong Energy Group is a renewable energy enterprise with the mission of “Develop clean energy for the green environment and sustainable development”, C47 is a leading company in the field of irrigation and hydropower project building. As a result, water security and clean water for sustainable development are great opportunities for Vu Phong Energy Group and C47 to contribute to the community. Many individuals, particularly those living in rural areas and low-income households, will be able to get free clean water. Furthermore, the program provides additional jobs for the community, as well as the opportunity to conduct certificate trading schemes for greenhouse gas emissions.

The cooperation between Vu Phong Energy Group – C47 – INTRACO marks an important milestone to build ecosystem businesses.
