Climate change is unequivocally an urgent global threat and an existential challenge for all species, a fact consistently emphasized in publications from the United Nations and various international organizations. The “Global Risk Report 2022” further underscores this reality by identifying the escalating climate crisis as the most serious long-term risk confronting humanity.
Addressing the climate crisis is a cornerstone of the universal goals aimed at eradicating poverty, safeguarding the planet, and ensuring peace and prosperity for everyone by 2030. This critical endeavor is officially designated as Goal 13 of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, specifically focusing on **SDG13 Climate Action**.
As one of the nations highly susceptible to climate change impacts, Vietnam has adopted a proactive approach to its **climate change response**. The country actively collaborates with the international community to facilitate **greenhouse gas emissions reduction** and transition towards a highly resilient, **low-emissions development** model. According to “The National Report 2020: Five-year progress of Sustainable Development Goals implementation” (The National SDGs Report 2020), Vietnam is well on track to achieve all three particular objectives under **Sustainable Development Goal 13** on actions to combat climate change. The infographic below illustrates these **SDG 13 specific goals** in more detail.
