Energetically inspiring young people at the Social Impact Career Fair

Mr. An, Pham Dang, Deputy General Director of Vu Phong Energy Group, shared information on job opportunities in the renewable energy industry in the context of sustainable development at the workshop. On June 3, 2023, the workshop was held as part of the Social Impact Career Fair event at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, National University of Ho Chi Minh City.

Social Impact Career Fair – People in Sustainability is a joint event organized by Dear Our Community and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, National University of Ho Chi Minh City to introduce students to knowledge and career opportunities in sustainable development. Over 1,000 students and employees attended the event, as did approximately 30 representatives from pioneering businesses and organizations in Vietnam engaged in sustainable development activities.

The Importance of Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is a global trend. According to PwC’s (one of the world’s top four auditing firms) 2022 research on ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) readiness in Vietnam, as many as 80% of businesses have committed or planned to implement ESG practices over the next 2-4 years. Meanwhile, people are regarded as a key resource and a decisive factor in the sustainable development of businesses and organizations. That is why the Social Impact Career Fair – People in Sustainability is such an important event because it allows students and young workers to explore and engage in socially impactful fields such as sustainable development, ESG, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), non-profit activities, and more in companies and organizations looking to recruit. This assists individuals in gaining guidance in selecting appropriate occupations and workplaces based on their interests and talents, while also keeping up with and integrating into the overall development trend for the future.

Through Vu Phong Energy Group’s booth and the presence of many other businesses and organizations practicing social impact activities and sustainable development in Vietnam, such as Biti’s, MobiFone, Eximbank, CareerBuilder, students had the opportunity to learn more interesting information about sustainable development practices and sustainable management in companies.

Career Opportunities in the Renewable Energy Industry

Mr. An, Pham Dang, Vice General Director of Vu Phong Energy Group, in particular, energetically shared his thoughts with the students at the workshop on career prospects in the renewable energy industry in the context of sustainable development during the event. He discussed the present state of renewable energy development, and the opportunities and challenges associated with discovering and working in the renewable energy industry, as well as the skills required to excel in this field. Mr. Pham Dang An also answered several questions from students on jobs in the renewable energy industry and overall trends in sustainable development.
