The DigiTrans Edtech 2022 contest, centered on the crucial topic of “Digital transformation application in education,” was meticulously organized by the Saigon Hi-Tech Park Incubation Center (SHTP-IC) in collaboration with KDI Education. This strategic partnership operated under the esteemed supervision of the Board of Management of Saigon Hi-Tech Park, the HCMC Department of Science and Technology, and the Thu Duc City People’s Committee. Beyond these core organizers, the initiative was further strengthened by the active involvement of Vu Phong Energy Group, alongside the Science and Technology Department of Thu Duc City, the Education and Training Department of Thu Duc City, the VNU-HCM Innovative Entrepreneurship Center (IEC), and the VNU-HCM Information Technology Park (ITP). A distinguishing feature of this year’s competition, setting it apart from previous iterations, was its inclusive division of participants into two main groups. Group A was dedicated to university students and burgeoning startups, providing a platform for their advanced ideas. Meanwhile, Group B specifically targeted high school and middle school students, encouraging earlier engagement with educational technology. This broader scope ensured that students from various educational levels could articulate their aspirations for technology integration and smart school concepts. By expanding the reach with more diverse examination boards, the contest aimed to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of digital transformation activities and edtech innovation across the entire educational spectrum.
The DigiTrans Edtech 2022 contest anticipated attracting over 1,000 participants from Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding southern provinces such as Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Long An, and Tien Giang. A key focus of the initiative was to provide in-depth training and expert consultation in crucial technological areas driving digital transformation education. These areas included STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), fostering innovative thinking, programming, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI). Participants also benefited from enhanced instruction in fundamental skills essential for project construction and development. Through this immersive contest experience, aspiring innovators were empowered to finalize their projects, develop groundbreaking ideas and products, and ultimately gain access to high-value rewards, promising collaboration opportunities, and pathways for the commercialization of their products through partner units, offering significant startup support.
