Vu Phong Energy Group works diligently to ensure HSE on construction projects

In May 2023, Vu Phong Energy Group engineers maintained the work on developing clean energy systems with the goal of early operation and transfer to producing enterprises. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management is always given priority at each project, particularly when the Southern area approaches the rainy season with heavy rain and high winds.

HSE in Vu Phong Energy Group’s Operations

Vu Phong Energy Group follows a procedure to establish and maintain an HSE management system that meets international standards such as ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), and ISO 9001 (Quality Management System). Vu Phong takes coordinated measures in this regard, including:

• Always adhere to occupational safety measures, particularly while working at heights or with electrical equipment that requires strict safety regulations.
• Equip complete regulations, instructional and safety warning signs, regularly examine machinery and equipment, and have daily Toolbox Meetings (TBM).
• Regularly organize and participate in occupational safety training programs.
• Periodically issue HSE bulletins to enhance safety awareness and eliminate potential hazards.
• Manage and assess potential risks to effectively prevent them.
• Proactively prepare for all emergencies.

Vu Phong’s Commitment to Sustainable Development

One of the outstanding activities in May is Mr. Phong, Pham Nam – Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Tri, Nguyen Quang – CEO of Vu Phong Energy Group attended the Grand Opening of Dalat Worsted Spinning Factory – DWS Factory. This is the first worsted yarn spinning mill factory in Vietnam with modern machinery and uses clean energy for production through a solar power system with a capacity of 2,040 kWp, by Vu Phong Energy Group providing General Contractor (EPC) services and Operation and Maintenance (O&M). With a capacity of 2,040 kWp, the system meets about 20% of the factory’s power use. It has the potential to cut CO2 emissions by over 2,100 tons per year, which is comparable to growing 34,700 trees over ten years.

From May 10th to 13th, 2023, Mr. An, Pham Dang – Deputy General Director of Vu Phong Energy Group, attended the JCI ASPAC Jakarta 2023 conference – a gathering of over 4,000 JCI members from various countries around the world, particularly from the Asia Pacific region. In particular, at the Global Solution Summit event within the framework of JCI ASPAC 2023, along with delegates from Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Mr. An, Pham Dang represented the JCI Vietnam delegation to present a short sharing our journey of efforts to reduce carbon emissions and exchanging ideas on collaboration in new initiatives. During this event, Mr. An had the opportunity to share about ongoing projects of greenhouse gas emission reduction, such as The Light Project and BLUE & GREEN, as well as Vu Phong Energy Group’s journey in collaborating with businesses and government agencies to realize Vietnam’s commitment to achieving Net-Zero emissions by 2050.
