Leading the charge in sustainable energy solutions, a new rooftop solar PPA system, boasting a substantial 2.04 MWp capacity, has recently been commissioned atop Dalat Worsted Spinning (DWS). This landmark installation at a prominent enterprise within the Phat Chi industrial complex in Da Lat city marks a significant stride for Vietnam’s first worsted yarn spinning mill. Vu Phong Energy Group proudly showcases its expertise in delivering cutting-edge industrial solar power projects, emphasizing the transformative benefits of the PPA model for businesses committed to green manufacturing and a reduced carbon footprint. This initiative highlights our dedication to advancing solar energy in Vietnam, aligning with global sustainable development goals.

The PPA Model: Revolutionizing Renewable Energy on Rooftops

This 2.04 MWp solar power system was developed under the innovative PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) model, a result of the strategic cooperation between Vu Phong Energy Group and the international investment fund ecoligo from Germany. Dalat Worsted Spinning (DWS), a respected member of Germany’s Südwolle Group, will procure the clean solar power generated by this system to fuel its factory’s production operations. As the general contractor (EPC), Vu Phong Energy Group ensures the delivery of a high-quality, reliable energy system, further solidifying the ecoligo Vu Phong partnership PPA in driving sustainable energy adoption in Vietnam.

Advantages of the 2.04 MWp Solar Power System at Dalat Worsted Spinning

The advanced industrial solar power system at Dalat Worsted Spinning boasts a total capacity of 2.04 MWp, integrating 3,456 high-performance Canadian solar panels (590W) and 16 state-of-the-art SMA Sunny Tripower CORE 2 inverters, each with a capacity of 110kW. These inverters represent SMA’s latest series, offering exceptional advantages in system efficiency and reliability. The system’s performance is consistently optimized by the integrated software solution, SMA ShadeFix, ensuring maximum energy yield. Furthermore, the automated monitoring service, SMA Smart Connected, proactively detects and addresses any system faults. With the embedded ennexOS technology in Data Manager M, both Vu Phong Energy Group and DWS benefit from optimized PV system communication, monitoring, and control. This real-time oversight of the PV system’s effectiveness on a weekly, monthly, and ongoing basis empowers DWS to formulate precise production plans that fully leverage the available solar energy, driving efficient and sustainable manufacturing.

By embracing renewable energy for its production activities, Dalat Worsted Spinning significantly reduces its carbon footprint, actively contributing to “green” manufacturing and sustainable development. This commitment is particularly crucial given DWS’s integral position within the global textile industry’s supply chain. Approximately 90% of DWS’s finished yarn is exported to major textile companies worldwide, while the remainder serves Vietnam’s garment sector, especially high-end brands entering the export market. These efforts underscore corporate responsibility in delivering premium products and services while minimizing environmental impact through continuous carbon footprint reduction initiatives.

The 2.04 MWp rooftop solar power system at the DWS plant represents the latest successful project within the ecoligo fund’s growing portfolio of clean energy systems across Vietnam. Prior to this, Vu Phong Energy Group collaborated with ecoligo on numerous renewable energy projects utilizing the PPA model, including significant installations such as Kim Duc 2.3 MWp, Dong Nam Viet 2 MWp, NAFOCO 1.13 MWp, GreenTG 1 MWp, and Radiant 1 MWp. Currently, Vu Phong Energy Group and ecoligo are extending their successful partnership to develop another PPA model rooftop solar power system at Dong A Plastics Group’s factory No. 02 in Chau Son Industrial Park (Phu Ly, Ha Nam), projected to have a capacity exceeding 2 MWp, further demonstrating the extensive benefits of PPA solar for factories and industrial clients committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

PPA Model Success Stories: Vu Phong Energy Group and Ecoligo Partnership

The PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) model for solar power, pioneered in Vietnam by Vu Phong Energy Group between late 2019 and early 2020, has garnered significant positive feedback from numerous domestic and international investment funds, as well as manufacturing enterprises across various industries. Through this robust PPA model, Vu Phong Energy Group and its partners have collectively developed hundreds of high-quality rooftop solar PPA systems, many of which have received prestigious energy awards, showcasing exemplary renewable energy solutions.

By enabling self-produced and self-consumed power, solar power systems operating under the PPA model actively contribute to the vital energy transition and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. This approach alleviates pressure on the national transmission grid system for electricity distribution, propelling Vietnam towards its ambitious commitment made at COP26 to achieve net emissions of “zero” by 2050. This also plays a crucial role in realizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 – Affordable and clean energy, Goal 8 – Decent work and economic growth, Goal 13 – Climate action, and Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals. These initiatives collectively illustrate how PPA solar reduces carbon footprint and drives sustainable development goals on a broad scale.
